The journey to develop the new AirRest pads began in early 2024. After gathering feedback from users of our existing product, we identified two key areas for improvement: greater softness and enhanced breathability to prevent sweating.
While exploring potential solutions, we were inspired by pioneering innovations like Wilson’s 3D-printed basketball and adidas’s groundbreaking 4DFWD shoe technology. These products revolutionized what’s possible with 3D printing, setting new standards in the fields of sports equipment and footwear.
Realizing early on that creating such a product would be difficult with our internal expertise, we partnered with an experienced parametric designer from Germany and began experimenting with a wide range of designs. This involved testing different geometries, thicknesses, materials, and 3D printing technologies. The development process was lengthy, as each iteration required time to refine the designs and produce new 3D-printed prototypes.
After nearly 40 prototypes and 8 months of work, we achieved the perfect balance of softness, breathability, and long-term durability, fulfilling our promise of revolutionizing comfort and performance.
