The journey to develop the new AirRest pads began in early 2024. After gathering feedback from users of our existing product, we identified two key areas for improvement: greater softness and enhanced breathability to prevent sweating.
While exploring potential solutions, we were inspired by pioneering innovations like Wilson’s 3D-printed basketball and adidas’s groundbreaking 4DFWD shoe technology. These products revolutionized what’s possible with 3D printing, setting new standards in the fields of sports equipment and footwear.
Creating AirRest was never simple. After nearly 140 prototypes, we launched the first MJF version, which quickly gained a loyal community of users. The feedback was great, but also gave us a few ideas for improvement.
Over the past half-year we teamed up with Carbon to bring AirRest to their DLS technology and EPU 46 elastomer. Now, with this 3rd batch, it looks familiar on the outside but has been completely re-engineered for more softness, durability, and lasting comfort.

What’s the difference between the new AirRest and the previous version?
At first glance they look similar, but the new version is made with Carbon Digital Light Synthesis™ (DLS) technology and EPU 46 elastomer. This gives it more softness, durability, and long-term comfort compared to the earlier MJF/TPU version.
What will I receive?
- If you choose Pads only, you will receive a pair of AirRest pads that can be easily attached to your current Carpio 2.0 or G2.0.
- If you choose the Carpio set, you will receive the complete Carpio 2.0 base together with AirRest pads, ready to use out of the box.
- Get priority access to fully customizable Carpio pads, coming in Q3 2025.
Do I need to own Carpio 2.0 to use this?
- If you choose “Pads only” → Yes, you need to already own Carpio 2.0 or G2.0, since the pads attach to the existing base.
- If you choose the “Carpio set” → No, you don’t need to own Carpio beforehand. You’ll get the full Carpio 2.0 (base + pads) ready to use.
Can I choose different sizes or colors?
Currently, AirRest pads are only available in Large size and black color.
Is there a left-handed version available?
Yes, the AirRest pads are available in both left and right-hand versions.
